Andy first became involved in films as an actor back in 1998 and worked on several independent Scottish films over the next few years.
In 2005, he decided to form his own company offering inexpensive equipment rental to local independent film-makers and developing some of his own film projects.
During the winter of 2005/6, Moniton Pictures made it's first film when Andy directed his first short film 'Party Piece'. Once completed, the next step for Andy was to help his local football team Greenock Morton by filming every fixture of their league-winning 2006/7 season.
In April 2007, Moniton Pictures started it's second film (with Andy again directing/producing). Filming in Fort William for the short film Seance Fiction began for a week in April and continued with a further week's filming in June 2007. The film would not be completed till February 2009.
In the Autumn of 2007 Andy suggested to his close friend Ray Tallan if he might be interested in Directing Moniton's next production - the black comedy Bad Date which Andy had scripted during the filming of Seance Fiction. In August, filming over one weekend completed Bad Date.
Andy was busy with development of projects over 2008, and in 2009 worked as co-producer with Uisdean Murray on his TV pilot for BBC Alba of Siubhlachan (The Traveller), a TV episode follow-up to his award-winning short of the same name.
Andy's next project wasn't until late 2009 when Mixed Messages was shot over 3 days in December. The film is currently in post-production and expected to be completed by March 2010.
After completing the filming of Mixed Messages, Andy began organising a screening event for Masses Entertainment's multi award-winning feature film '12 In A Box' at Glasgow Film Theatre on 23rd March 2010. Further details on this event can be found here.
